About me
I obtained my Bachelor of Engineering degree
in Computer Science from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai,
India , in 1988.
I then worked as a Systems Engineer at CMC Ltd., Madras, India. After two
and a half years there, I joined the Dept.
of Computer Science at SUNY at Stony Brook for
a PhD, in 1991.
Research
- My primary research project is a software-based real-time protocol
for Ethernets. The project is titled RETHER and you can find more information
about it here.
- RETHER is used as the underlying network protocol for the Stony
Brook Video Server (SBVS). The SBVS consists of two main subsystems :
the Video Storage Subsystem (VSS) retrieves data from a disk array in
real-time and the network subsystem (RETHER) that delivers the data to the
clients on an Ethernet. You can find more information about the VSS in
client-side
support for SBVS.
My advisor is Prof.
Tzi-cker Chiueh and we work in the Experimental
Computer Systems Laboratory
