CSE 659 (Section 2) Seminar on Internetworking Software
Description
This is a one-credit seminar course on internetworking software.
In this seminar, we will continue the study of the architecture
and implementation of several network software systems.
In other words, we are interested in understanding how high-level
network-based applications are built out of the low-level protocols.
However, this semester we will focus on two types of systems:
Multi-user interactive systems and Internet payment systems. The
systems we will study include network games, VRML, audio/video transport,
DIS-based systems, digital cash, and electronic commerce systems.
In terms of technical areas, this seminar will explore the interaction
between networking and graphics, security, and multimedia.
Students who decide to take this course must be
committed to do a high-quality presentation of his or
her assignment. In particular, a handout of at least
one page must be prepared beforehand to be distributed
in the class. As usual, auditors are NOT welcome.
